So much more - Marta from Spain on taking private lessons

'You get all the help you can possibly need, and the flexibility of having the class when it is best for you!’ states Marta Fernandez Permuy from Spain on having a private teacher. She has been a student at Lingu for a while, studying both Norwegian and English.

'Getting the basic grammar from a course and then going out there to speak it is the best. Having a private teacher that can focus solely on you and your problem areas is great. My vocabulary develops so fast.’

Fernandez Permuy came to Norway 18 months ago and has been increasing her language skills ever since.

'In addition to private lessons, the best way for me is to create situations where I get to really practice and speak the language. I volunteer at a lot at places where I am forced to communicate in Norwegian,’ she says. A common challenge for foreigners in Norway is finding areas to speak Norwegian and also daring to throw one self into settings where you are forced to speak without using English as a support language.

Fernandez Permuy furthermore says she stays motivated by thinking of all the possibilities opening up as she learns new languages. 'The work market opens up when you speak the native tongue. Being able to work will further provide a speaking arena which again develops your language and takes you into the culture of the country.’
